Business Administrator

  • Type: Permanent, Full time (37.5 hours per week)
  • Location: London, with the option of home working occasionally

Overview of the Role


We believe that behind every great business organisation is a talented and capable business administrator.  We are looking for a new team member to assist with facilitating office organisation and communication by performing administrative duties across our Professional Services and Digital Infrastructure departments, as well as providing support to our back-office functions.

Description of Duties


Providing office support including customer and employee support

  • Keeping well-organised files and records of business activity
  • Researching company data and archived reports
  • Keeping computer databases up to date
  • Interacting with clients either on the phone or in person
  • Following up on business communications, billing, and ordering
  • Communicating with materials suppliers and vendors
  • Invoicing
  • Using spreadsheets to track expenses and company spending
  • Collecting and inputting company data
  • Making travel arrangements for employees as required
  • Learning about the company’s mission and available products/services
  • Sending emails, letters and promotional materials
  • Preparing documents by printing, copying, and binding
  • Writing and editing company correspondence
  • Collecting and sorting post
  • Assisting with minor technical support
  • Acting as a personal assistant to the executive team
  • Scheduling appointments and events
  • Ordering office stationery and other supplies
  • Preparing meeting rooms by setting up chairs and getting refreshments
  • Participating in-office meetings and taking meeting minutes
  • Giving feedback on office efficiency and suggesting possible improvements
  • Being ready for any other administrative tasks that are required

Relevant Necessary Experience


  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience in Office Management
  • Experience in bookkeeping is desirable but not essential

Background and Responsibilities


The role will suit someone who has worked in a fast-paced, dynamic office setting and who can meet multiple deadlines, as well as prioritise and thrive under pressure. Ideally, candidates will have administration experience in the construction or IT industry.
