Overview

Nottingham Trent University was due to undertake a dynamic new estates programme to bring dramatic improvements to its three campuses, creating a better environment for the students and teachers studying, working and living there.

Highlights

  • Implementation of Voice over IP
  • New LAN and WAN and Storage Area Networks
  • Design of New Data Centre
  • Project Management of relocation of 250 servers and 33+ devices

“One of the reasons the computer room relocation went so smoothly was because of the way the Consulting team worked with key university staff to evaluate and understand the problems we were likely to face and then pre-empted them.”- Mark Deeley, Programme Manager at Nottingham Trent University

Summary

The University worked towards an extremely tight timescale, with the building and relocation taking place within a six month period. One of the key requirements was that there was no down time of services; as this would have impacted, not only on the teaching facilities, but also the administration systems such as finance and email.
