PTS were required by Swiss Re, a leading global re-insurer to minimise expensive real estate within Data Centre facilities, and assess the effects of the co-location on the existing Business Continuity Plan.
As part of an initiative to bring together four business divisions into a Corporate Headquarters at 30 St Mary Axe, one of London’s most prestigious buildings, PTS was tasked with minimising the dedicated, expensive real estate within the Datacentre facilities. In addition, PTS was asked to assess the effects that co-location into a single building would have on the organisation’s existing Business Continuity Plan.

With PTS’ significant involvement, Swiss Re was able to implement a highly resilient network and server topology that provided the most cost-effective use of the valuable real estate.
The project was highly successful, resulting in no disruption to the business during the transition. The design has provided Swiss Re with a highly flexible and cost-effective solution, which will meet the business needs for at least the next five years. On completion, PTS’ performance during the two-year project was quoted as having been ‘the most impressive service provided by any of the professional consultancy organisations.’
