Overview

The Bank has undertaken an ambitious three-year programme to not only rationalise its Canary Wharf office space but also to simultaneously build and fit-out a 30,000 sq.ft. Datacentre in order to comply with its own strategy of separating people from technology. Morgan Stanley seeks to improve business performance over the next ten years, which means optimising the stacking of the new HQ1 building to bring the principal business units into greater proximity.

Highlights

  • Development and implementation of essential PMO tools
  • Construction of a management reporting system and structure that provided an up-to-date and clear picture of the programme status at all levels
  • Development of an effective change control strategy in this challenging environment
  • Establishment of a highly successful working partnership

“The Programme Management Office start-up has witnessed the establishment of a highly successful working partnership between Morgan Stanley and PTS, so much so that additional PTS employees have been brought into the separate project workstreams to provide continuing support to Morgan Stanley’s resources.”

Summary

The successful delivery of the Programme Management Office has provided Morgan Stanley with the skills and toolset to effectively manage this complex programme. Several PTS employees have been ‘hand picked’ to guide the programme through to completion in 2008.
