When appropriately considered, technology can significantly improve the way organisations deliver services to clients as well as transform the way they work and make decisions. Ofsted, the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills, needed a strategy that would help to deliver best in class customer-facing services, professional tools to support the workplace and tools to use data to support intelligence-led decisions.

Ofsted’s road to transformation started with the development and review of an ambitious Digital, Data and Technology strategy,
The development of the strategy began with undertaking a discovery assignment. During this initial phase, the team worked with key project stakeholders to ascertain the future needs of the organisation from 2020. The process involved a review of existing documentation, systems, resulting in a report of the Client’s current state.
Next, the team clarified with Client’s vision for the future and what best-in-class meant for Ofsted. From there, PTS develop a gap analysis outlining how what must be done to reach the desired state before producing a roadmap detailing the actions Ofsted must take. This phase also included a Budget and Options analysis as well as key recommendations in a detailed Digital, Data and Technology strategy.
