Summary
When looking to invest in two new European Data Centres, the Client, a global insurance company, needed to know as much as possible about each potential site to make a sound investment decision. Does the site offer value for money? Is it resilient? What about the location. With Brexit and GDPR on the Client’s mind, data sovereignty was also a big concern.
Support during the Request for Proposal stage helped the Client whittle down a long list of providers to a shortlist of 12 potential sites.
A visit of each site resulted in a PTS STARS report comparing key aspects. The report looked at details including operations, staff, and security. With an objective, overview of each site, senior decision-makers could make an evidence-led decision over which two facilities to select.
With support during the process, the Client could continue with BAU activities and swiftly progress to the next stage of the programme, the migration, confident that they selected the right sites.
